Congrats to a first class organization, a fabulous city, and all my friends back in Dallas!! I’m truly happy for Dirk, Jet, and J.Kidd for winning the first championship for the Mavs! Although Dirk and Jet are the only remaining members of the 2006 team that lost to the Heat in the ’06 Finals, I’m sure there is a feeling of redemption for the franchise. On the other hand, my heart breaks for players like Juwan Howard, who after 17 years in the league, came so close to finally winning that elusive ring, and for Lebron James, who although has plenty of years left ahead of him, had the entire country against him, which was completely baffling to me and ridiculously unfair to him! I can sincerely empathize with what the families of the Heat players are going through right now….losing in the Finals is heartbreaking. But, at the end of the day, it’s basketball folks…there’s always next season…We hope (side eye to David Stern.)  Again, a big congratulations to the Dallas Mavericks. They played hard, and they deserve the title.
