Valeisha Butterfield, newlywed to Indiana Pacers guard Dahntay Jones and founder of WEEN, Women in Entertainment Empowerment Network is currently hosting the organization’s first ever WEEN Academy. Founded on the principles of promoting and defending the balanced, positive portrayal of women in the entertainment industry, (which is so needed right now) WEEN grants scholarships each year to deserving college students and young women entreprenuers.

John Wall, the number one pick of the 2010 NBA draft, made his debut in the NC Pro-Am last night in front of a packed house at NCCU.  The Raleigh, NC native put on a show with a “battle” between him and former N.C. State player, Julius Hodge. Wall had 12 points, including the game-winning free throws, in the victory. Hodge, a one-time ACC player of the year, actually had a game-high 20 points…although from the looks of these highlights, Wall showed out!
